Since its formation 40 years ago, Ahtna, Inc. has made great strides in becoming a group of self-sufficient, successful villages that provides economic opportunity to our shareholders while still maintaining our unique cultural heritage. The Native 8(a) program, as provided by the SBA, has been a vitally important piece of legislation that has helped to make the stability and prosperity of our people possible. Through it, companies owned by our shareholders -- the Ahtna Athabascan people of the Cantwell and Copper River regions of south-central Alaska -- have developed into successful businesses whose profits are then re-invested into our villages, providing numerous economic and cultural benefits. The Ahtna, Inc. Vision Statement is: Our Culture Unites Us; Our Land Sustains Us; Our People are Prosperous.
