5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.- Art Opening: Terry Josea, Fish and Bird Drawings and Paintings, at Orca Books.
7:30 p.m. - Taste of Cordova, a Copper River Salmon cook-off and unveiling of new local products at the Reluctant Fisherman Inn. Proceeds to support Copper River WILD! Salmon Festival. Also featuring a performance by Moe Bowstern, publisher of Xtra Tuff zine, reading fisher poetry, and salmon life-cycle shadow puppet show.
July 11, 2008
12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. -Mural painting workshop with Terry Josea, for children ages
8 - 12 years. Each child may take home his or her mural section. $15 fee. Location TBA
4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. -Local Arts and Crafts Festival. The Alaska Department of Fish & Game's Mobile Aquatic Education Classroom will also be open for visitors!
6:00 p.m. - Elegant salmon h’ors d’oeuvres, proceeds to benefit the Cordova Center project and salmon filleting demonstration with Deb Eckley at the Ski Hill.
6:00 - 10 p.m. -Silent Auction featuring local artists and products.
6:30 p.m. - Salmon Jam Music Festival opens; arts festival.
10:00 p.m. - Headline band, The Whipsaws.
July 12, 2008
7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. -Alaska Salmon Runs road races: King salmon marathon, Sockeye half marathon, Coho 10K, Humpy 5K, Smolt one-mile walk/fun run.
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. -Fish Printing and more hands on activities hosted by the Prince William Sound Science Center. Beading with Patience Anderson Faulkner, and
native ice cream making ("akutaq") with the Ilanka Cultural Center.
4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. -Local Arts and Crafts Festival and one more opportunity to climb aboard the ADF&G truck.
5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. -Square Dance - Cordova Music Camp, Ski Hill.
6:00 p.m. -Salmon barbecue; Alaska Salmon Runs medal announcements.
6:00 - 10 p.m. -Silent Auction featuring local artists and products.
6:30 p.m. -Salmon Jam Music Festival
