Johannes Brahms is our Maestro's favorite composer for good reason. Klirle explains his love for Brahms saying, "Brahms has the ideal mix of head and heart. His melodies are lush, beautiful, and moving, and he writes with great clarity, structure, mid strength." Brahms's Symphony No. I is sometimes called Beethoven's 10th. This will be the first live performance of this magnificent piece in Juneau. Contemporary Mexican composer Arturo Marquez's sparkling Danzon No. 2 will have your feet tapping, and Youth Solo Competrtion winner George Jones from Sitka rounds out the program.
