First City Council on Cancer

Mission :

First City Council on Cancer is a community-based, non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to reducing the impact of cancer related problems upon the individuals and families of Ketchikan, Alaska and its environs through the following activities:

- Ensuring adequate access to surveillance exams and appropriate counseling for the medically indigent and under-insured.

- Assisting with community and area-wide educational initiatives for individuals and professionals concerning cancer prevention and therapy.

- Facilitating local support groups.

- Embarking on fundraising events to help support these programs.

- Collaborating with other local, state, and national organizations with local initiatives
