Kodiak Crab Festival

8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m: Crab Festival Poster Display - Display will be available May 9-July 31 at the Senior Citizens of Kodiak Center. During Crab Festival the Center is open Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
10 a.m. - 9 p.m: Library Sidewalk Book Sale - Book sale featuring thousands of books, videos, DVDs, and CDs at bargain prices. Come early for best selection. All sales benefit the public library. Sale takes place in front of the library - inside the library if it rains. Come Thursday, Friday, May 23, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday, May, 24, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
6 p.m: Table Tennis Tournaments will be held at the Teen Center. Divisions for middle school, high school and adults. Double elimination. This event is for everyone. Medals will be awarded to four champions and four runner-ups.
6 p.m: Predicted Mile Race at Joe Floyd Track in Baranof Park. Sign up at 5:30 p.m. to participate. This is an event in which participants estimate the time it will take them to run one mile. The winner is the person who comes closest to his or her prediction. Wearing watches is not permitted. A trophy will be awarded the winner. There is no charge for this event.
6 - 7:30 p.m: Drop off time for all local artists displaying their works at the 8th Annual Crab Festival Art Show sponsored by Dancing Salmon Artists. Drop off location is the Kodiak Inn, Harbor Room. Entry forms available at the Public Library, Next Page Bookstore, Just Jane, The Artist's Eye and Emerald Isle Framing. There is a $25.00 entry fee.
6:30 p.m: Kodiak Outloud at Tony's Bar on the Mall. All poets are welcome.Sign up with Toby at 6:30 p.m. to share your poetry on the day of the event. Refreshments prodices by Gwyn's Cookery.
