8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m: Crab Festival Poster Display
- Display will be available May 9-July 31 at the Senior Citizens of Kodiak
Center. During Crab Festival the Center is open Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5
p.m.
10 a.m. - 9 p.m: Library Sidewalk Book Sale - Book sale featuring thousands of
books, videos, DVDs, and CDs at bargain prices. Come early for best selection.
All sales benefit the public library. Sale takes place in front of the library -
inside the library if it rains. Come Thursday, Friday, and Saturday,
5-7 p.m: Putting Green -- Daily prizes, and Grand prize of a 1-hour flight
seeing charter! Green also open Friday and Saturday, 2-5 p.m. proceeds support
Habitat for Humanity.
6 p.m: Chess Tournament will be held at the Teen Center. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
medals will be awarded in three divisions: Open, High/Middle School and
Elementary. Matches will be limited to one hour ten minutes. After that time, a
draw will be declared. Competition will be in round-robin format. Joe Bailor
will be the tournament director. No charge for this event.
6 - 9:30 pm: Opening reception of the 8th Annual Crab Festival Art Show
Sponsored by Dancing Salmon Artists, Best Western Kodiak Inn, Harbor Room.
Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a no-host bar. Art by local artists will be on
sale. Also open Saturday, May 24, 12-6 p.m. and Sunday, May 25, 12-4 p.m.
