My father, mother, brother and I moved to Sterling, Alaska when I was 6 years old. Sterling is a very small town of around 4000 people. In fact, it was so small that we had to go to the next town to buy grocieries. I grew up on a mini-farm, so I definitely have a small town, farm girl side to me and everything that comes with that; I love the outdoors, have a self-sufficient and can-do attitude and love animals. During high school, I worked at a family-run gas station and did everything from cashier and making espressos to pumping propane. I returned to Grand Rapids, Michigan for college. I went to Cornerstone University for one semester, returned home for Christmas break, crashed my best friend's truck and had to spend money I didn't have to buy it from her. I decided not to go back to college because I "knew" what I wanted to do and wanted to go to a specialty school that mainly taught the kinds of things that I wanted to learn. But, as we all know about life's twists and turns, instead of going to the new school, I met a guy and didn't want to leave. So from there I worked at gas stations and finally a pizza place which set me in the direction that landed me where I am now (Ahhhh, pizza... What can't it do?) I really liked getting out of the building and driving around town. So that's when I decided that I would try trucking. I got a job delivering bread in a tiny little van. The ...
