Valdez is known as the Switzerland of Alaska because of the rugged, snow-clad peaks which surround the city. It is also the location of the marine terminal of the Trans Alaska Pipeline. This first half of this show illustrates the beautiful town and fabulous scenery of Valdez. The second half shows some of the activities associated with Valdez's annual May Day Fly-In airshow, with a heavy emphasis on the skills competitions by Alaska's modern day bush pilots.
