Bid for stadium lighting approved in Opelika

The Opelika City Schools Board of Education voted unanimously Wednesday to approve a bid that would replace the football field lights at Opelika High School. According to the Opelika-Auburn News, Bessemer-based S & G Waldrop Electric Inc. was awarded the contract to install the new stadium lighting. Superintendent Dr. Neighbors said the approximately $260,000 cost will be paid out of the remaining balance of Public School and College Authority bond funds from 2007.
