Dothan City Schools

Dothan City Schools is committed to providing a sound educational system that emphasizes learning in core subjects as well as providing opportunities for students to acquire skills needed for continued learning in the 21st Century. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 emphasizes student achievement and requires assessments in core subjects, which are the foundation  for learning. Our Strategic Curriculum Framework in each of these core subjects provides the foundation for instruction in our K – 5 schools. Content Standards for DCS are based on the Alabama Courses of Study for core subjects.
