'Stars Fell on Alabama' license plates still on the road

The "Stars Fell on Alabama" license plate was retired in 2009 in favor of the "Sweet Home Alabama" plate. Drivers were supposed to get either the new "Sweet Home Alabama" tag or the "God Bless America" tag when they renewed their vehicle registration that year. However, things like that sometimes fall through the cracks.
