Monroeville Area Chamber Of Commerce

The Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce is a county-wide chamber of commerce in its 82nd year. The Chamber of Commerce currently has a leased office on downtown square in Monroeville.

In the not-so-distant future, the Chamber of Commerce will move to the new Welcome Center, purchased by the City of Monroeville in 2000, and soon to be renovated.

The Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce currently has two permanent staff positions, and relies on temporary part-time assistance when required. Glenda Bullard serves as secretary for the Chamber of Commerce, while Sandy Smith serves as Executive Director.

The Chamber is funded through membership dues, revenues from the "Leadership Now" program, an annual contribution by the City of Monroeville, and sales of miscellaneous items and publications. The operating budget for the Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce is approximately $70,000 annually, while actual revenues and expenses total well in excess of $150,000. This is because the Chamber of Commerce raises funds for projects on an as-needed, project by project basis. There is no long-term source of funding for the Chamber of Commerce, and no reserve funds.
