Creative justice

The court system in Alabama operates much like other state agencies: too much to do with too little money. A case study recently conducted by the Alabama Administrative Office of Courts found that Tuscaloosa County has the fourth-highest backlog of pending cases in the state, behind Madison, Baldwin and Mobile counties.
