The mission of the Alabama Museum of Natural History is to broaden the knowledge of natural sciences and human culture through collections and quality programs of research, instruction, and service.

The Alabama Museum of Natural History, located in Smith Hall, the first building to be built on the University of Alabama campus in the twentieth century, is one of the finest excaples of Classical Revival architecture in the region.
