The Friends of the Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge was organized to provide support for the newly formed Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge.

The group was formed with a specific mission in mind - to support the Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge in its efforts to protect, preserve, and restore its diverse, natural, and historic resources in a manner which will enhance the educational and recreational aspects for the public.
