Fog on the Cutoff (Of White River) at Jacksonport Ar on Oct 3rd 2011. It would be very peaceful if you couldn't hear the early morning traffic on the main highway. I think the fog is carrying the sound more this morning.

Sept 7th 2011, Jacksonport Arkansas. The Mary Woods No 2 Steamboat, the history of this part of history began in 1931. Check out this link for the history. I has been a part of the Jacksonport State Park in Jacksonport Arkansas for years as a Museum. arkansasstateparks.wordpress.com The Mary Woods No 2 sank on Jan 30th 2010...also check link www.newportindependent.com You can Google Mary Woods No 2 and find a lot of info, and they decided the two men they arrested for sinking the boat didn't. Some men from Independence County (Batesville area) bought what is left of the boat and had plans of restoring it, and maybe making a restaurant out of it. Here, they are about to move it out of the Park, but they did have problems and were unable to move it up river.
