Party for the Planet: An Earth Day Celebration A Party for the Planet: An Earth Day Celebration Schedule: Friday, April 16, 2010 - Special Keeper Chats Giraffes: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 - Civitan Amphitheatre Grand Opening Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 - Special Keeper Chats Giraffes: 10: a.m. Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17, 2010 11 a.m - 2 p.m: Guest turtle feedings at the pond for $1 per person. 1 p.m: Tree planting demonstration at Lorikeet Landing. Plant sale by Zoo Horticulture at the front entrance. Demonstration by the “Garage Sale Queen of Recycled Art”. Composting demonstration at the elephant yard. Paper shredding demonstration by Cintas every half hour. Display of photos from the annual Zoo Photo Contest sponsored by Bedford Camera and the Outdoor Photography Club at the Civitan Pavilion. Display of art from the annual eARTh Art Competition at the Civitan Pavilion. Special appearances and photo opportunities by Pedro the Penguin, Recycling Ben and Smoky the Bear.
