Celebrate Library Lovers Month by helping the library and getting great deals on books at the Friends of Central Arkansas Libraries (FOCAL) used book sale on February 24-26. Paperback books are $.50 and hardback books are $1 at the Central Arkansas Library System's (CALS) Main Library's basement, 100 Rock Street. FOCAL members will receive an additional 50% off "gently read" books throughout the sale at River Market Books & Gifts (RMB&G), 120 River Market Avenue. FOCAL members can shop the Main Library basement an hour early, at 9 a.m., and the sale is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Basement sale hours on Sunday are 1-4 p.m. Sale hours at River Market Books & Gifts are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
The sale will begin with a members-only Preview Party Sale on Thursday, February 23, from 5- 7 p.m. at RMB&G. RMB&G is the largest used book store in the area, and has an excellent selection of books on three floors.
Funds from the book sale help the library provide programs at branches, book club kits, Summer Reading Club, and special Saturday programming for children at the Main Library. For more information about the sale, call 918-3000 or check our website,
