The law should be that anyone convicted of a felony can not hold office. Defining a misdemeanor that involves "deceit or dishonesty" is just too vague. Honest people write hot checks all the time. The problem is that, under Arkansas law before you can be prosecuted, the prosecutor must give you notice and an opportunity to pay up. This guy said he was away from home when he got the notice, and charges were filed before he could pay up. I doubt this, because I think any prosecutor
