1/22/12 Arkansas Chase- Sirens Sound in Sheridan, AR

Here's a highlight video from the recent severe weather outbreak in Arkansas -January 22nd 2012. SPC issued a Moderate Risk for that day...( unfortunately the severe weather continued later that night/early morning on the 23rd, where in the pre-frontal trough, tornadic supercells formed in AL- one of which spawned the deadly Birmingham AL tornado.) As we arrived in Sheridan, AR the sirens were sounding, from there we decided to go SE to Rison AR. Shortly upon arriving in Rison, the approaching tornado cut power to the town (silencing the sirens). Thankfully, the tornado hit just north of town. Arkansas Extreme Storm Chasers 1/22/12 Fordyce Tornado aftermath Rison

This is the video from the day after the tornadoes went through arkansas. It was a PDS Tornado watch. So far as of this posting, there were 6 tornadoes recorded and we intercepted a nice couplet just East of Rison Ar after the Fordyce storm split in two near rison. Not sure if the southern couplet was rulled a tornado. Also, the lady I met that had a tree land on her house was not the house we show on this clip. I just found out the house was not occupied. Video is from the hotel, the storm damage in fordyce and where I was just 2 miles east of Rison on 114 at 8:03pm cst. I wanted to retrace my steps. January 22, 2012 about 3 miles E of Rison, AR around 8pm. PDS Tornado Watch for Arkansas. Just missed the larger couplet coming from Fordyce but got right in front of the smaller couplet slightly to the south. Chased solo but it became too difficult to film with my VX2100. Turned off the cam and just let my dash cam run. Lost data, had no radar. But called a chase partner to help me out. Storms began firing further west and had to backtrack. My other video is from the VX2100 cam.

January 22, 2012 almost to Rison, AR around 7:15pm. PDS Tornado Watch for Arkansas. Chased solo and tried to film with my VX2100 but it became too difficult. Lost data, had no radar. But called a chase partner to help me out. Target was either greenville, ms or pine bluff, ar. Storms began firing further west and had to backtrack. The other video is from the dash cam. Sorry so shaky.
