The Arkansas Country Agricultural Museum was the brain child of local
farmer Jack Crum and historian Bennie Burkett. Convincing the local
citizens to preserve their heritage and to donate items to preserve
that heritage took several years, but perseverance paid off, and in
1974, the museum opened its doors. The Stuttgart Agricultural Museum.
With the turn of the 21st
century, the museum’s governing body decided that this name no longer
suited the museum’s collections. As a result, the museum was renamed
the Museum of the Arkansas Grand Prairie. The museum charges no admission fees, but we gladly and gratefully
welcome donations. The museum also hosts a number of fund raisers
during the year to support its operations.
The museum houses over 15,000 items in its collections.
