CATHOLIC HELATHCARE WEST AND UNITED SURGICAL PARTNERS INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCE THE ADDITION OF THREE OUTPATIENT SURGERY CENTERS TO THEIR JOINT VENTURE AFFILIATION

Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) has announced the addition of three new outpatient surgery centers in Peoria, Phoenix and Scottsdale, further expanding upon the network of ambulatory surgery centers within the CHW and United Surgical Partners International (USPI) joint venture affiliation. Initially established in 2003, this joint venture enables the healthcare system to expand its ability to serve patients by creating additional access points for surgical services throughout Arizona, California and Nevada.

"Through our joint venture, we’ve expanded CHW’s ability to reach patients in the communities we serve by providing convenient access points to high-quality, efficient, easily accessible and affordable medical care," says Scott Nordlund, senior vice president of Strategic Growth, Network and New Venture Development for CHW. Nordlund notes that the relationship also expands CHW’s ability to provide outpatient surgical services, providing more flexibility and choice for our communities and physicians. "Developing affiliations with high quality providers like USPI will continue to be a priority."

According to Jeff Andrews, USPI’s Market President of Operations for the Arizona and Nevada markets, his team specializes in developing and managing partnerships between physicians, health systems and their outpatient surgery centers. "From a day-to-day management perspective, USPI is solely focused on providing quality, safety and efficiency in the area of surgical services," he says.

Each outpatient surgery center provides a host of specialties, from orthopedics, ENT, and general surgery to ophthalmology, gynecology, and pain management, among others. The outpatient surgery centers recently included in the CHW and USPI joint venture affiliation include the following:
