United Surgical Partners International (USPI), which owns and operates 204 surgical facilities throughout the United States and United Kingdom, has named Susan Dolezal, M.B.A., H.C.M., B.S.N., as Chief Nursing Officer of Arizona Orthopedic Surgical Hospital. In this capacity, Dolezal will be responsible for directing all aspects of the hospital’s nursing operations, processes and staff.

Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) and USPI entered into a joint venture affiliation in 2003, enabling the healthcare system to expand its ability to serve patients by creating additional access points for surgical services throughout Arizona, California and Nevada.

"By partnering with ‘best in class’ organizations such as USPI, CHW is able to extend our reach in delivering compassionate, high-quality, affordable health services to more people," says Scott Nordlund, senior vice president of Strategic Growth, Network and New Venture Development for CHW. "Our relationship with USPI enables us to grow our healing ministry and offer our patients access to a broader spectrum of care."

With more than 10 years of experience in healthcare management, operations and regulatory compliance, Dolezal was drawn to the hospital’s mission of providing surgical services in a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment that exceeds customer’s expectations. "We operate each day with a focus on delivering the perfect care experience," says Dolezal.

Among her many notable accomplishments, Dolezal has served as Chief Nursing Officer of Mountain Vista Medical Center, and as Director of Telemetry at Banner Baywood Heart Hospital, both in Mesa, Ariz. She also owns and operates A Gentle Touch Home Care, LLC, a private duty nursing and non-medical home care agency in Mesa.

"Susan shares our vision and passion for serving patients in the highest quality, most efficient and convenient ways possible," adds Nordlund. "USPI and CHW are working together to achieve a common goal to improve the health of the communities we serve."

Dolezal received her dual master’s degree in Business Administration and Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix.
