Coyotes Assign Cal O’reilly To Portland

GLENDALE, AZ---Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced on January 17, 2012 that the Coyotes have assigned forward Cal O’Reilly to the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 6-foot, 188-pound O’Reilly has appeared in 22 games with the Coyotes this season, collecting 2-3-5. He has posted 2-4-6 in 27 NHL games this season with the Coyotes and Nashville Predators.

In 2010-11, the 25-year-old native of Toronto, Ont., appeared in 38 games with Nashville, recording career highs in goals (6), assists (12) and points (18). He has posted 13-27-40 in 107 career NHL games with the Coyotes and Predators.

O’Reilly was originally drafted by Nashville in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
