Coyotes Assign David Rundblad To Portland

Glendale, AZ - On January 13, 2012, Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced the Coyotes have assigned David Rundblad to the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 6-foot-2, 190 pound Rundblad has recorded two assists in two games with the Coyotes since being acquired from Ottawa on Dec. 17. In 24 games with the Senators, he registered 1-3-4.

The 21-year-old native of Lycksele, Sweden played four seasons with Skelleftea HC from 2007-08 through 2010-11, recording 12-61-73 and 36 penalty minutes (PIM) in 153 regular season games. In 40 career postseason games, Rundblad recorded 4-9-13 and 13 PIM.

Rundblad was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the first round (17th overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft.
