Carol Spoor holds a Mohave County Miner newspaper clipping from Feb. 14, 1974 near the Miner offices recently. The photo shows her daughter, Diane, as well as Bill Griffin, holding a heart during a 1974 Kingman celebration of Arizona's birthday. Arizona became a state on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, and the article described how that came to be.
