The Mesa Police Department is currently seeking information to identify a robbery suspect responsible for a robbery committed at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 259 W. 1st Avenue.

On Saturday October 4, 2008 at 3:30 pm the suspect entered the Wells Fargo Bank. He was immediately asked to remove the light colored fishing hat and thin black sunglasses he was wearing. The suspect told the bank teller he did not want to removed these items because “this is a robbery.” The suspect motioned to his right hip area and told the bank teller he had a gun. The bank teller did not see a handgun at any time during this incident.

The suspect calmly walked out of the bank. The suspect was seen walking from the bank and it is unknown if the suspect was in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 30's, approximately 5'9” tall, 180 pounds (described as “stocky”), dark eyes, and a mustache. The suspect was last seen wearing a light colored fishing style hat, red, white, and blue long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt, light colored pants, thin “female style” sunglasses, and carrying a black medium sized hand bag.
