Do you love our land? Care about clean air and water?

The Arizona Wilderness Coalition works to protect and restore Arizona's last wild places through advocacy, outreach, community engagement, and taking Arizona's wilderness voice to Congress.

WE NEED YOU TO JOIN US (www.azwild.org) as we launch some exciting campaigns for 2010-2011, including campaigns to win greater protection for the Sonoran Desert and the Upper Verde River.

Did you know that you don't need to be an expert hiker to care about wilderness?

WHO LOVES WILDERNESS?

- the mom who wants to ensure clean air and drinking water for her children (protected land means protected water sources and less pollution for the state)
- the green university student who likes to organize other students to protect the environment
- the low-income family looking for a healthy alternative to recreation for the whole family
- the professional who needs a bit of solitude for bird-watching and hiking
- the hunter who cherishes unspoiled wild places
- the city person who doesn't consider himself to be "outdoorsy," but likes the idea of protecting wild nature for the future

Our economy is even fueled by wilderness. Just think what would happen to our state if there was no beautful, unspoiled places for tourists to visit?! Revenue from outdoor recreation totals in the millions each year and puts many people to work.

But come and learn more for yourself! Join us at one of our outings or sign up for our e-alerts (www.azwild.org) and learn why protecting our land is important to everyone. You'll have a lot of fun, meet new friends, and help give a voice to our beautiful wild places and rivers!
