Prescott Farmers Market will host Workshop Day

Prescott, AZ---The Prescott Farmers Market will host its first annual Workshop Day Beginning at 8 am, presenters will run workshops and demonstrations on sustainable water use, organic gardening, local food, an electric yarn spinner, and Slow Food. Plus, guest chef demo, live music, and great locally grown food.

8 am: Shaun Rydell, City of Prescott – sustainable water use

8:45 am: Cynthia Lee Cartier, Master Gardener – organic gardening

9:30 am: Sarah Wertz, Prescott College & Whipstone Farm – local food information

10:15 am: Barbara Albeck – electric spinner

11 am: Annie Macheca and Sarafina Riskind, Slow Food Prescott – Slow Food information

The Prescott Farmers Market runs every Saturday morning through October 10 from 7:30 am until 12:00 pm at Yavapai College. The Chino Valley Farmers Market runs every Thursday through October 1 from 3 pm to 6 pm at Bonn Fire Restaurant on Highway 89. This year’s market offers farm-fresh, locally grown produce; agricultural crafts; gourmet foods; advice from local growers; guest chefs and samples; local musicians; and more.

The Prescott Farmers Market (PFM) is an agricultural cooperative of Yavapai County agricultural producers. The markets are “growers only” and permit no re-selling. The PFM has two area markets. The Prescott market runs Saturday mornings from 7:30 am until noon at Yavapai College. The Chino Valley market at the Bonnfire Grill Restaurant on Highway 89, runs Thursdays, starting June 4, from 3 to 6 pm. Each market runs weekly through mid-October.
