Sharlot Hall Museum
History
The Museum offers a small, but growing living history program. Participants include staff, local area volunteers and special program volunteers from around the state.
Living history training is done on a wide variety of subjects to acquaint volunteers and staff with 19th century life. Work sessions are held to help create the period garments that will be worn while participating in the program. Accuracy is stressed as much here as in exhibits or other programming done by the Museum.
Personnel may choose between a third person presentation such as tour guides use and first person where they become a living artifact from the past. While the Museum is stressing the 1860s time period, other decades are open to interpretation for those interested in them. What ever your interest, Sharlot Hall Museum is a place that brings history to life.
