Open House scheduled for Germann Road Corridor Improvement Study

from:Town Of Queen Creek category:Clubs and Organizations posted:November 11th, 2011
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and Partners for Strategic Action will be hosting an open house for the Germann Road Corridor Improvement Study.

The corridor study is being conducted as a result of the Town of Queen Creek’s Planning Assistance for Rural Areas (PARA) grant application, which was selected by ADOT in December 2010 to receive sufficient funds to cover 100 percent of the study, meaning no Town match is required. The study will address a number of current and future transportation planning issues on Germann Road, and will be managed by ADOT over a 12-month period. More specifically, the study will provide the means to establish the facility type, number of lanes, right-of-way needs, and the general alignment that will be required to accommodate projected traffic growth and enhance safety on Germann Road.

ADOT has established a project website at www.azdot.gov/Germann, which will serve as the project “portal” where working papers and other important project documents will be posted.

Stakeholders include public agencies, private organizations, the business community, elected officials and the public. Throughout the study, information will be presented to, and solicited from, stakeholders through individual interviews, focus group meetings, public meetings, and other means of communication.
