September 11th Memorials - 10th Anniversary Events and Memorials in Scottsdale

category:Clubs and Organizations posted:September 6th, 2011

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, and while it is a day that recalls great devastation and loss, it is also one on which to remember the many Americans who proved their heart and mettle. On that morning and in the days that followed, courageous people risked and gave their lives, while millions of others lent help and support to their neighbors in a time of need. In honor of that spirit of unity, September 11 has been established as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.

As you pause to reflect this year, consider commemorating the fallen heroes and victims in a productive way. We invite you to use the volunteer widget here to search for opportunities to serve in the Scottsdale community or in an area nearby. Food drives, neighborhood clean-ups, and disaster preparedness efforts are just a few ways you can help to transform the anniversary of a tragedy into an occasion for positive change.
