Mission and History:

Tucson Botanical Gardens is a private 501(c)3 non-profit organization supported by income generated through admissions, memberships, gift shop sales, special events, classes and rentals, contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations, and grants from the City and County. Volunteers assist the staff with almost every aspect of Gardens’ operations.

Vision Statement

The Tucson Botanical Gardens, a tranquil oasis in the heart of Tucson, strives to be recognized and respected as the best small public garden in America.

Mission Statement

The Tucson Botanical Gardens promotes responsible and appropriate use of plants and water in a desert environment through education and demonstration and provides a place of beauty and tranquility for Tucson residents and visitors.

Core Values

As the Tucson Botanical Gardens moves forward, its leadership respects the Porter legacy and all that it embodies.  Bernice Porter was committed to creating a garden that was both aesthetically beautiful and educational.  She envisioned it as a community resource for learners of all ages, knowledge levels, and abilities—a center where one could learn about plants, gardening, and nature.
