Hey everyone! First of all, thank you so much for watching my video, I hope you enjoy my version of "We Are Young" by the band FUN. If you enjoy the video, please share it with your friends, family and facebook :) This was my first ever attempt at trying to make an actual video with transitions and everything, but I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out for a first attempt! I just recorded this song and video all this afternoon... got the idea from that cool video with 110 million views - "Somebody that I used to know" Instead of 5 people playing one instrument, I thought I'd try one person playing 5 instruments - I played drum beats on a guitar, uke and then did a pick-scratching thing with a guitar -then took my other acoustic and played bass using the low E string. I pulled the accordian out of the garage and learned that part - which although it was fun to play, that thing is heavy. Added the vocal parts and guitar parts as well after the rhythm and bass stuff was done. As far as gear, I used a Taylor 314 to beat on, and a cool little Uke I scored from a local guitar shop here in Arizona. Also, an old fender acoustic worked good for the bass line. Recording, I run into ProTools LE with the stock plugins - groove tube mic, stock pre's in the 003 rack unit. I utilized the various rooms in my house to get whatever sound I was looking for for the recording. It just takes some time and patience to do these types of recordings.
