Anaheim Receives Top Award From Orange County Chapter Of The U.S. Green Bulding Council

Anaheim, CA - Enhancing the quality of life for Anaheim’s residents, businesses and visitors is a priority in the City of Anaheim, and those efforts were acknowledged Thursday night as Anaheim received the Eco City Award as the greenest city in Orange County by the Orange County chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.
Anaheim won the award based on evaluations of city incentives or assistance in green development, staff knowledge of LEED Building and planning or public works, LEED Certified buildings, City Council Sustainable goals, website information supporting green building and sustainability, and other criteria.
“On behalf of the City of Anaheim, we appreciate this award from the U.S. Green Building Council,” said Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait. “The Eco-friendly award represents the work of our many employees who seek to serve the community by offering opportunities and great customer service to residents and businesses in Anaheim.”
Anaheim rated high in its efforts for innovative, sustainable and green projects in Anaheim for residents and businesses. Examples include transportations systems, the ARTIC project, outdoor spaces, public outreach and education, and incentives offered by various departments including Anaheim Public Utilities, Planning and Public Works.
