Canyon High School has completed a digital arts center that will be used to provide Animation and Video Gaming classes. The Stellar Technology Program is another exciting addition to the Canyon High School campus. This technology-based program will prepare students for a wide variety of careers in the fields of entertainment arts and technology. The Stellar Technology Program will encompass two career pathways, Computer Information Systems (CIS), and Digital Reality in Entertainment Arts Media, (DREAM).
Canyon High School selected critical thinking as our instructional area of focus, which was first identified from our self-study during our last accreditation process. We attempt to connect everything we do to this area of focus. Students become familiar with the elements and standards of critical thinking through a scaffold program organized and led by a committee of teachers and administrators. Our goal is to have all students utilize the critical thinking elements and standards in and beyond the classroom.
In addition to traditional Honors and Advanced Placement courses, Canyon High School offers laptop/online classes in English, history and government. Canyon High School challenges its students with many unique learning opportunities. The International Baccalaureate program at Canyon couples high academic standards with intellectual rigor.
