2012 Rabies Vaccination Clinics Scheduled

Apple Valley, CA---The Apple Valley Animal Services Department has announced the 2012 schedule for its low-cost rabies vaccination clinics. The first session will be held at the Town’s animal shelter on February 1 from 5 to 7 p.m.

 Rabies shots are $6 each and other vaccines are available at a reduced cost. Microchip services are only $20. Cash only please. Same-day license renewal is offered for town residents only.

Additional vaccination clinics have been scheduled every other month in 2012:

Saturday, April 7 – 10 a.m. to noon
Wednesday, June 6 – 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, August 1 – 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, October 3 – 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, December 5 – 5 to 7 p.m.

The municipal animal shelter is located at 22131 Powhatan Road just east of Quinault Road.

Seniors and disabled residents of Apple Valley who are unable to transport their pets to an animal hospital or vaccination clinic are encouraged to schedule an appointment for the clinic to come to them.

Animal Services will offer a “Shelter on the Stray” mobile vaccination clinic January 21, July 21 and November 17 for cats and dogs between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Clients must call to schedule an appointment.

Vaccination pricing ranges from $6 to $15. Low-income families may also qualify. Contact the Town of Apple Valley Municipal Animal Shelter for details at (760) 240-7000 x7555 or visit www.AVAnimals.org.
