PAPA TO OFFER MYSTERY DINNER THEATRE
The Pass Area Performing Artists, a project of the BanningCultural Alliance, are currently in rehearsal for their upcoming production of Agatha Christie’s popular mystery, “And Then There Were None.”
Eight people, all strangers to each other, are invited to Soldier Island, off the English coast. Vera Claythorne (Britney Young), a former governess, thinks she has been hired as a secretary; Philip Lombard (Thomas Spellacy), an adventurer, and William Blore (Aaron Rogers), an ex-detective, think they have been hired to look out for trouble over the weekend; Dr. Armstrong (Elizabeth Homer) thinks she has been hired to look after the wife of the island’s owner. Emily Brent (Norma Ferrales), General MacKenzie (Bob Keeling), Tony Marston (Barent Langwell), and Judge Lawrence Wargrave (Randy Bernard) think they are going to visit old friends. Rogers (Chip Caballero) and Mrs. Rogers (Vanessa Richardson) are the hired help for the weekend.
All of the weekend lodgers, unbeknown to them, have been invited by their elusive hosts for one reason and one reason only…to die! Each has a deadly secret…soon to be revealed. The Ten Little Soldier Boys rhyme guides the progression of the play. The childish verses tell the story of the deaths of ten soldier boys and end with the line that gives the play its title: “…and then there were none.”
PAPA is fortunate to have the talents of Director, Donnell Powell who has significant acting and directing experience. Donnell and his professional production team are working diligently to bring quality entertainment to the Pass area.
This intriguing production will be presented the last two weekends in February 2012. The Dinner Theatre will be presented on Fridays and Sundays with a delicious buffet offered and tables of eight set around the audience. ($25. per person or two for $45.) You may make individual reservations or reserve a complete table for 8.
The Saturday performances will exclude dinner and will be set up with theater-style seating. ($12. per person).
