GYROKINESIS® exercise has been practiced for decades by dancers and non-dancers alike in major cities around the world to build strength in both the core and extremities and increase mobility in the entire body. Developed by dancer Juliu Horvath to combat chronic injuries, the system works the entire body using natural spinal movements and simple joint articulations. The system focuses on the basic movements of the spine: forwards, backwards, right and left side, right and left twist, and circular movements. By moving through the different postures and exercises the system re-educates the body to move with fluidity and power. Each session lasts one hour and incorporates seated, lying, and standing positions.
GYROKINESIS® is a registered trademark of GYROTONIC® Sales Corp and is used with their permission.
Wednesdays 6:15-7:15pm at Live Oak and Thursdays 10-11am at James Kenney $20 per session
