Carlsbad Community Church

Twenty-eight years before Carlsbad became a city, 40 local residents got together to sign a charter to start the Carlsbad Union Church. The year was 1924. They wanted a place to worship. After all, their children had been attending Sunday school led by two missionaries from the East Coast ---- Sally Troutman and Marion Holmes ---- for the past two years.

In observance of the 80th anniversary of their church, which was renamed in 1991 as the Carlsbad Community Church, the congregation gathered for a "celebrating the past and engaging the future" service at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, in its 1400-seat worship center on Harding Street.

Today, the church has a myriad of services for all ages, it supports more than 40 missionaries worldwide, and it offers the use of its facilities, including its multipurpose worship center, to the community for concerts, meetings and special events.

Carlsbad Community Church supports about 45 missionaries who serve at home as well as in many countries around the world with a faith promise budget of $250,000 for the year. You will find a missions display in the lobby of the Worship Center which contains a map and information pertaining to our missionaries. Please pick up their recently received letters allowing you to know more about them and the work God has called them to do.  Our annual Missions Conference is held each October with guest speakers and missionaries presenting information to the congregation about the various ways God is reaching others around the world through them.  We have members serving as full time missionaries and we encourage short term mission trips by youth and adults each year.
