Felting with Carol Roccadate:Saturday, November 14, 2009 time:12:00 PM to 4:00 PM venue:Elk Grove Fine Arts Center address:9080 Elk Grove Blvd. Elk Grove, CA 95624 View map
About the Workshop: Felting
is a popular fiber art craft that uses special barbed needles that grab and
bind fibers together to create a matt. The matted fibers are then sculpted to create 3D felted fun. You can create animals, people, storybook
scenes, dioramas, and decorative accents. In this 3 hour class we will make a
rabbit. Limit 8 per class. Foam boards will be available or you can
bring your own. About the Instructor: A huge lover of animals, Carol fell in love with a
small, sculpted dog made of felt at a shop. Having spent years in color pencil portraiture projects, she found a new
way to express her attention to details in dry needle felting, which has become
her passion. Her current projects
include creating nativity scenes, dogs, personalized pets and many other
animals of the wild kingdom (including our very own ELK). Her creations are
regularly on display at First Baptist Church of Elk Grove. www.thefeltingcorral.webs.com
