An art workshop entitled “The Basics of Color” will be held Saturday, July 26, 2008 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. This workshop co-sponsored by the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center and the Elk Grove First Baptist Church will be held at the church, 8939 East Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove, CA 95624. The fee is $35.00.
Instructor Peg Lovelace has a teaching credential in art and has taught at both the high school and junior high level in Elk Grove. She is a member of Sacramento Fine Arts and has won first place awards at the Sacramento County Fair for her watercolor, colored pencil and graphite drawings. In the past year, she has worked with several artists in the Sacramento area concentrating solely on watercolor. Learning and teaching art are her lifelong passions.
This workshop will focus on the exciting world of color. Have you ever wondered how to mix that rich brown without getting mud? What paints make the exact color I want? Semi-transparent, semi-opaque, transparent, opaque, staining, nonstaining and granular; what does that mean when glazing or mixing my paints? Come find out the answers to these questions and more by creating your own color wheel and color chart. Through experimentation and knowledge, you will learn how to create beautiful works of art.
If you would like to join us for this exciting workshop experience, please contact Terry Garcia at (916) 687-8908 or at atgarcia@frontiernet.net. Space is limited to 16 people
