Stay Safe on the Parkway over Memorial Day Weekend
– American River water levels may be low, but the water is still cold
and moving fast. If you don’t have life jackets for your children find out more about loaner life jacket programs. Remember alcohol will be banned on the shore and river within the American River Parkway between Hazel and Watt Avenues. Read the press release for more information.
County Holiday Office Closure
– Most County offices will be closed Monday, May 26 in observance of
Memorial Day. As always, emergency services will be available. County
offices will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 27.
Survive the I-5 Construction Project with a Commuter Pass
– Sacramento County's Regional Parks Department is offering a FREE
commuter pass to allow you to park at facilities along the American
River Parkway. You can avoid many of the I-5 delays by cycling or
carpooling from there to your office. Find out how to get a Pass at the Parks website.
Make Your Voice Heard!
– Tuesday, June 3, is the statewide primary election, which will
feature two ballot measures and a wide variety of local elections.
Vote-by-Mail ballots (formerly known as absentee) will be arriving
soon. If you plan to vote in person, you can look up your polling place.
Interstate 5 Repairs to Close Freeway
– Beginning on Friday, May 30, Caltrans will begin a seven week project
to repair a critical portion of I-5 in the heart of downtown
Sacramento. Expect significant delays with portions of I-5 to be
closed, and traffic on alternate routes to be very heavy. Find out how
to manage your commute at the Fix I-5 website.
