Female Arrested In Connection With Burglaries
from:City Of Modesto category:Government and Politics posted:May 14th, 2008Modesto, CA – Modesto Police patrol officers located and arrested a 34-year-old Modesto woman this afternoon in connection to several burglaries. Sandra Gomez was located by officers after she fled the scene of an interrupted residential burglary.
The string of break-ins began this morning at 7:00 am when officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1700 block of Davenport Court. The victims awoke to find that their house had been burglarized sometime during the night while they were sleeping. The suspects had taken electronics as well as purses and wallets. The victim’s did not see or hear the suspects who apparently entered through a window.
At 7:30 am, officers received a call of an attempted burglary in the 2500 block of Bardolino Lane. The female caller reported that a male and female had just tried to break into her house through a back door. The caller’s boyfriend chased the suspects who fled in a white Ford Mustang. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. Officers located an identification card that had been dropped by one of the suspects. The identification card belonged to one of the victims of the Davenport Court burglary.
The third burglary occurred in the 600 block of Little John Lane at about 10:40 am. The homeowner arrived at his residence and saw a white Ford Mustang parked in the car port. He parked his vehicle and blocked in the Mustang. When he approached his house he saw a Hispanic female inside his home. The woman began to flee and the man called 9-1-1. He then noticed another Hispanic female standing in his side yard. The woman, later identified as Sandra Gomez, said she was waiting for a ride and walked away. Officers in the area located Gomez and detained her. Gomez was searched and officers located the keys to the Mustang along with several stolen items from the Davenport Court burglary.
Officers and detectives are working to identify the female who fled the residence on Little John Lane as well as the male from the attempted burglary on Bardolino Lane. Gomez was booked at the Stanislaus County Jail for residential burglary, possession of stolen property and a probation violation.
