from:Modesto Symphony Orchestra category:Arts and Entertainment posted:April 23rd, 2008

About the MSYO: The Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra (MSYO) program consists of two large ensembles overseen by MSYO Music Director, Ming Luke. Based on skill placement and musical experience as demonstrated in the audition process, students will be placed in either the Concert or Symphony Orchestras. The Concert Orchestra offers a disciplined musical environment to beginning and intermediate students. The Symphony Orchestra offers a pre-professional full orchestra experience to students playing the finest in symphonic literature. In the fall of 2008, all students will have the opportunity to perform in the Gallo Center for the Arts and in the summer of 2009, Symphony Orchestra students will participate in an International Tour!

Auditions for both groups will be held June 1, 2008 from noon-7pm and June 3 & 4, 2008 from 4-8pm at the Music building, CSU Stanislaus campus, 801 W. Monte Vista Avenue, Turlock. To sign-up for a time, contact Office Manager Katie Rossi, at the Modesto Symphony Orchestra Association: (209) 523-4156 or msyoauditions@modestosymphony.org.
