On April 9th through the 11th, officers with the Modesto Police Department’s Narcotic Enforcement Team and the Street Crimes Unit, along with members of the Sheriff’s Department “STING” team coordinated an operation using a police agent. The agent arranged the purchase of controlled substances by the drug dealers. The transactions were monitored by the police and after the drug transactions were completed, the dealers were taken into custody. Sixteen people face charges of sales of controlled substances, a felony crime which can result in imprisonment.
The following Modesto residents were arrested for sales of a controlled substance:
Robert Thomas Jr. 54 years.
Dellanora Green 46 years.
Kenyatte Brown 23 years.

The purpose of this mission and investigations was to make a dent in the drug dealers who help contribute to rocketing property crimes. Drug users frequently resort to crime to sustain their habit and by arresting dealers of controlled substances, police are hopeful some impact can be made in reducing crimes. “We want to send a strong message to dealers that the Police Department will stay united with the Sheriff’s Department in aggressively seeking out dealers on the streets” said Sgt. Steve Hinkley of Modesto P.D.
