Modesto, CA – The Modesto Police Department’s Narcotic Unit, in conjunction with the Sheriff’s Department, arrested sixteen people over a three day period for selling controlled substances to undercover agents. The arrests resulted in several suspects having their terms of parole violated as well.

On April 9th through the 11th, officers with the Modesto Police Department’s Narcotic Enforcement Team and the Street Crimes Unit, along with members of the Sheriff’s Department “STING” team coordinated an operation using a police agent. The agent arranged the purchase of controlled substances by the drug dealers. The transactions were monitored by the police and after the drug transactions were completed, the dealers were taken into custody. Sixteen people face charges of sales of controlled substances, a felony crime which can result in imprisonment.

The following Modesto residents were arrested for sales of a controlled substance:
Robert Thomas Jr. 54 years.
Dellanora Green 46 years.
Kenyatte Brown 23 years.
Juanita Palmore 44 years.
Christopher Declouet 29 years.
Kevin Coleman 31 years.
Timothy Crisp 41 years.
Anita Finister 46 years.
Shanta Kinney 46 years.
Rachaud Therman 22 years.
Luis Cervantes 42 years and Julio Neri 25 years were also arrested for conspiracy.

The following were arrested for sales, as well as violating the conditions of their parole:
Waymon Miles 47 years.
Lottie Swan 31 years.
Luther Gilmore 26 years, of Oakland.
Walter Harris 44 years.

The purpose of this mission and investigations was to make a dent in the drug dealers who help contribute to rocketing property crimes. Drug users frequently resort to crime to sustain their habit and by arresting dealers of controlled substances, police are hopeful some impact can be made in reducing crimes. “We want to send a strong message to dealers that the Police Department will stay united with the Sheriff’s Department in aggressively seeking out dealers on the streets” said Sgt. Steve Hinkley of Modesto P.D.
