Zero Waste and Carbon Neutral
Earth Day 2009 will strive to be a Zero Waste event. North Lake Tahoe Truckee Earth Day will also strive to be a “Carbon Neutral” event.

Haute Trash returns to Earth Day with a little help from the creators of Truckee High’s Trashion Show. Inspired by the designs of Haute Trash, students from Truckee High School ’s Envirolution Club have been hard at work creating their own unique fashion out of trash. They will debut their eco friendly designs with entertaining commentary during the Trashion Show segment of the Haute Trash Trashion Show scheduled for 3PM on the Main Stage.

The Earth Capades!
The Earth Capades Planetary Circus   weaves water awareness and waste reduction with comedy, audience participation and circus acts, bringingvolunteers up onto the stage. The Earth Capades hits the funny bone of young and old alike.

Push, Pull or Pedal Eco Parade...For kids of all ages!
Participants are encouraged to develop a non-motorized craft such as a wagon, bike or tricycle made from recycled materials and push, pull or pedal it past judges.

Registration: 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Check in Location: Earth Day Tent
Parade Begins: At 10:00 a.m.
Location: At the Mountain Stream fountain at the East end of the Village.

Kids Activities. There will also be an extensive children’s activity area sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe.

Do Your Part. Ride TART
T.A.R.T. will be offering free transportation to and from the event from North Lake Tahoe, Incline Village and Truckee.
