community is invited to join in celebrating literacy and raising funds to open Ipakanni
Early College Charter School. The event
will kick-off with a two week read-a-thon on Monday, November 9th in
sync with an online book fair at www.UBAH.com/BF32962 Children participating in the read-a-thon will
not only help raise funds for the new school, but they will also earn FREE
books for themselves as well. The fundraising event will conclude with an
onsite book fair to be held at Berry Creek Rancheria on December 1st
and 2nd and at Mooretown Rancheria on December 3rd and 4th.
Visitors
will discover wonderful holiday gifts for the children in their lives and
support Ipakanni Early College Charter School at the same time. They will find
beautifully illustrated Usborne picture books like “How Big Is a Million” and
amazing non-fiction titles like “See Inside Space” that will capture all
children’s imaginations. Also popular fiction titles by Kane/Miller will be
available, such as “Wilfred Gordon Partridge McDonald.” Julie McIntosh, of Mooretown Rancheria commented, “We anticipate
that the Usborne Books & More book fair will be a great success. Putting books in the hands of children is a
very powerful thing, and we are excited to support the children of our
community in this way.” Usborne
