University Heights Middle School
History:
University Heights originally opened as a junior high in 1927. The original school was located on University Avenue in the current Cesar Chavez Community Center. The school moved to its current site in 1972 and is presently a middle school serving approximately 920 seventh and eight graders. The student population is drawn from the areas of Highgrove, UCR, Eastside, and Canyon Crest. The school staff has a traditional strong commitment to academic achievement and high expectations. Student response to these expectations is very positive and together we strive for excellence. Thus our motto – “A Renaissance School”.
