The Towe Auto Museum is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Henry Ford’s Tin Lizzie :
Mr. Ford’s Legendary Model T: Car of the Century. Sponsored
by Ford Motor Company, the exhibit will include an array of models that
illustrate the various uses of the Model T, including a rare 1908 Ford Model T
Touring (first year production) and a 1927 Ford Model T Touring (last year
production). The Model T was certainly more than “just a car” - it was the car
that put the world on wheels and was officially recognized as the “Car of the
Century” by an international judging panel. It was used in town, on the farm,
and as a social statement then and now! Memorabilia and artifacts will showcase
the Model T’s national and international influence including its place in the
world of music and song. There will also be a display of some of the 5,000
accessories made to improve the looks and utility of what came to be known as
“The Universal Car.” Don’t miss your chance to experience why Tin Lizzie earned
the title “Car of the Century” and learn about the various technological,
historical, and social impacts this vehicle had on the world!
